Here I am, in the Arctic Circle! I don’t know if it’s due to my long trip here or due to the weather, but I can actually feel it. The air is cool and fresh, making me think about this famous Game of Thrones phrase: “The winter is coming”.
I love trains. If I could travel everywhere by train, I would. This year I wanted to experiment. What if I didn’t fly this summer? What if I travelled to my hikes by public transport only? Even if it’s in the Arctic Circle?

Yep, today is a big day. My first +30km day in my hiking career 🙂 I’m merging two stages and hiking all the way to Bergen op Zoom as there was no ideal option to leave the trail somewhere in between.
It’s 8:30 and I’m leaving the hotel after a good rest and a big breakfast. No time to waste in November since I have sunlight for ~ 9 hours only.
Today starts my 3-day hike alone. This is the first time I’m going on a multi-day trip all by myself. Very exciting! All 3 days will be quite long (+25km) with basically two stages per day.
