This was the first visit to the USA for both me and Edo. Already a while ago we had this idea to see the famous America on a road trip. So many places to see! With 60 National Parks, we knew that we will be surprised.
In 2022 Glacier Point was only accessible via the Four Mile Trail as the road to it was closed due to repair works. As this viewpoint offers some of the best views of the valley, we could not pass an opportunity to visit it without having to share it with hundreds of other visitors.
Mist Trail is one of the most iconic trails in the Yosemite and no wonder why. On your way you will not only see two iconic and powerful waterfalls, but also the famous Half Dome.
This was a surprise hike. I was curious about hiking on a dome and so Lembert Dome seemed like a worthy option to explore. Rather a short hike and what a panorama!
As we stayed for two nights on the east side of Yosemite, we dedicated one day to hiking on the trails that are located on Tioga Road. I picked this trail purely based on reviews and recommendations.
This trail is an amazing alternative in case you cannot do a multi-day hike in the Kings Canyon and you’d like to get a taste of what it has to offer from the east side. Kearsarge Pass borders Kings Canyon and has fantastic views all the way.
If you browse “things to do in Zion national park”, Angels Landing is definitely one of the top attractions in the park. It got labeled as one of the most dangerous hikes in the world as quite a few hikers sadly fell off the cliff while hiking it.
I’ve been dreaming about this hike as it features in almost every “The best hikes in the World” book. Walking on a river surrounded by tall walls of a golden canyon – what is there not to like?? 😄
We went to explore the iconic area of the park – the Navajo loop with its famous zigzag paths, and combined it with the Peek-a-Boo loop (lovely name), which ended in a very diverse and decent half-day hike.
We chose it mainly because it’s a decent half-day hike with beautiful views all the time. And indeed, we enjoyed this hike a lot.
After a day on a packed Bright Angel trail, we were looking for something calmer and Hermit’s Rest seemed like the right place to visit. This trail was way less crowded, allowing us to admire the canyon in solitude
This trail is one of the most accessible ones in the park. It takes you through a small part of the Rim-to-Rim trail, so we got to experience at least some of it.
